You're wrecking your metabolism & gut health if you eat like this
This can totally be unintentional…. But these habits could be wrecking your metabolism! ⤵️
Does your day of eating look something like this?
🍌 Breakfast: coffee & banana
🥨 Lunch: a few pretzels, maybe a sandwich with 1-2 slices turkey or a salad & a coffee or diet coke
🍚 Dinner: picking while cooking so not eating much once the meal is actually on the table. Maybe a few spoons of rice, and couple bites meat (if
🍫 After dinner: some popcorn, some pretzels, a few chocolate chips etc.
BUT WHY is this so damaging??
1️⃣ Banana for breakfast - This provides you with a hit of pure carbs/sugar with zero protein or fat causing the blood sugar and insulin to spike first thing in the morning (especially if you're having coffee too)
This will set you up for blood sugar dysregulation for the rest of the day, which leads to 2pm crashes, intense cravings, low energy and brain fog. Long term, this will also increase cortisol levels. 👎🏼
2️⃣ Extremely low protein with EVERY meal (& for the day)- this again will send your insulin surging completely blocking your ability to utilize fat to make energy (and lose weight).
Again, long term this will also increase cortisol levels and slow down your metabolism.
3️⃣ Grazing- eating little bits every hour or so (although low calorie for the day) never allows your blood sugar to return to its baseline before hitting it again with more food.
This is not good for your metabolism, hormone balance OR digestion. 🙅🏼♀️
🔅With the lack of protein, frequent eating (even if it’s small amounts of food), and lack of nutrient-dense calories, your metabolism is going to struggle.
